Alpine Programs

Our Alpine Programs are for kids who love to ski fast!

Our Alpine Programs follow Alpine Canada’s Aim2Win long-term athlete development model to build confident, capable, and versatile skiers.

Athletes train across all alpine disciplines, including Slalom, Giant Slalom (GS), Super G, Downhill, and Ski Cross, while developing strong technical skills in varied terrain and conditions.

Training includes a balanced mix of race course work and all-mountain skiing—groomers, steeps, powder, bumps, trees, and jumps—to create well-rounded athletes who love to train, compete, and ski.

KAT is very excited to be offering a Lite Racing program for the 2027 Season for both U12 and U14 Athletes! This program will consist of a combination of race training and free ski development taking place on Saturdays and Sundays only.

It will feature 20 days of training from January to March and includes Dry-land training in October / November.

This program is designed to bridge the gap from Entry Level to Alpine Racing for those who are multi-sport athletes, uncertain about the training commitment from 1 to 4 days on snow, or just want a lighter ski schedule. The goal is to continue to foster their passion for skiing, aid in their development and allow more athletes to continue to ski with their peers.

U12/14 Alpine Lite athletes are encouraged to participate in Kootenay Zone Alpine races. However, there is no requirement to compete and races are completely optional. U12 Lite athletes will attend our own Nancy Greene Festival. Alpine race dates are TBD as the BC Alpine schedule is released in October each year.
