Entry Level Programs

Our Entry Level Programs help young athletes build strong skiing fundamentals while developing confidence and a love for the sport.

Led by trained and certified coaches, athletes learn mountain safety, skier etiquette, and the basics of alpine and freestyle skiing in a fun and supportive environment.


Through groomers, bumps, jumps, and introductory race courses, athletes develop skills while participating in regular training, club activity days, and fun events like the Nancy Greene Festival and Helen Bavin Race.


Athletes who complete the program are well prepared to move into Alpine programs.

Entry Level U6

Cost: Early Bird : $950 After September 27 : $1100

A minimum number of participants is required for each program to run. If a program does not meet the minimum registration requirement, it will be cancelled.


In the event of a cancellation, participants may choose to transfer to another available program and either pay or receive a refund for any difference in fees, or receive a full refund of all fees paid for the cancelled program.


The U6 Entry Level Program is designed to help young athletes build a strong foundation in skiing while fostering a lifelong love of the sport. Our certified coaches provide a fun, safe, and supportive learning environment that balances skill development, confidence building, and mountain safety.


Athletes will be introduced to the fundamentals of alpine and freestyle skiing through a variety of engaging activities. Lessons focus on developing skills on groomed runs, bumps, jumps, and introductory race courses, while teaching skier etiquette and how to safely navigate the mountain.


Regular training sessions, club activity days, and special team events help athletes build friendships, create lasting memories, and develop a passion for skiing. Fair play and sportsmanship are emphasized throughout the season. Upon completion of the program, athletes will be well prepared to progress into either Alpine or Freestyle programs.


Athlete Prerequisites


Athletes entering the U6 program should be able to:


  • Ride chairlifts with assistance
  • Ski green runs confidently and independently


Please note that the number of on-snow training days may be adjusted due to unsafe weather or snow conditions. Please refer to our Weather Policy for additional information.


Program Overview

  • Ratio of 4:1
  • Training Saturdays starting January 2026. Calendar to be released in December. No training on Family Day weekend
  • Athletes will participate in club activity days and club events
  • For athletes aged 5 on or before December 31, 2026

The U8 Entry Level Program is designed for young skiers who are ready to expand their skills and confidence on the mountain. Through a balance of structured coaching, skill-focused activities, and plenty of fun, athletes continue to develop the fundamental techniques needed to become strong, versatile skiers.


Led by certified coaches, athletes will build on their existing abilities while learning to ski a variety of terrain, including groomed runs, bumps, jumps, and introductory race environments. Training emphasizes mountain safety, skier responsibility, teamwork, and sportsmanship, helping athletes become confident and capable participants both on and off the snow.


Throughout the season, athletes will take part in regular training sessions, KAT Club Activity Days, and club events that encourage friendship, personal growth, and a passion for skiing. The program provides a strong pathway for athletes interested in progressing into Alpine or Freestyle programs in future seasons.

Athletes enter U10 with a good skiing background and our goal is to turn that into a technically solid foundation. We do this by introducing every possible environment, terrain and condition - in a fun and safe way. Whether the conditions are perfect groomers, soft bumps, icy courses, ski cross or knee deep powder our coaches use the mountain to facilitiate an awesome learning environment. In U10 our philosophy is everyday on snow is a good day to learn!


At U10 our focus is on developing athletes that are confident, capable and versatile in all conditions and disciplines. All of our U10 athletes will take part in organized KAT Club Activity days as well as participate in organized competition through team and individual club events. Fair play is promoted and recognized with awards for every competitor resulting in huge smiles and great memories.
