Tips for cold days on the slopes
- Socks: Avoid wearing your ski socks too long before you put your boots on as any sweat will make feet colder once in ski boots.
- Under layers: No cotton. Fleece and wool insulate even if they get wet. Down or synthetic insulation layer under ski jacket.
- Hand and foot warmers: Help keep extremities warm when it gets cold.
- Balaclava and neck tubes: Great for keeping the wind out and the neck and face warm and protected.
- Get Moving: Warm your body up before sitting on the first chairlift
- End of the Day Pull liners out of ski boots and dry over furnace vents. Do not put in dryer or too close to a woodstove. Interior of shells can also get wet so consider drying them in the same way. Dry gloves and mitts the same way.
