Teaching Kids life skills through the Love of Skiing

Northstar Freestylerz (12+)

Cost:  $1475

12 week program taking in all mountain training. Athletes will ski all over the mountain and will be training to a level where they can compete in the Kootenay Freestyle events this season along with the Junior Jeep Freeski Tour. The Freestylerz program aligns with the “Canadian Sport For Life Learn To Train” stage of athlete development. The focus is on the fundamental development of sport skills (freestyle skiing skills) through fun seasonal training.

Athletes will often want to focus on only learning a few exciting skills that they have seen in movies, or their friends attempt. It is important that the program develops foundational athletic, skiing and acrobatic skills for safety and long-term success. It will be our coaches' job to motivate and explain the importance of a well-rounded athlete.

While the focus in Freesylerz is on training, competition should be used to start teaching and assessing “Learn To Train" competitive skills in a fun and relaxed environment. Generally, “Learn To Train” athletes have a ratio of 90% training 10% competition during the season.
