On February 6th and 7th,  Kimberley Alpine Team hosted its 2016 Nancy Greene Festival. This 2 day competition, opened from U6 to U12 racers, took place on the Dreadnaught. Racers participated in 6 events over the weekend. On Saturday, athletes competed in the downhill, speed, jump and obstacle events and on Sunday raced the Dual Slalom and GS events. Over 160 athletes from Fairmont, Golden, Lake Louise, Whitewater and Kimberley attended the annual event.

The TECK Zone U12 and U14+ Race was held on the same weekend. Over 100 racers from Golden, Fernie, Lake Louise, Manitoba, Red Mountain, Whitewater and Kimberley attended the 2 day event. The GS on Saturday and Sunday as well as the night dual GS on Saturday were held on the Main. The night event was a big hit with the athletes and the crowed gathered in front of the Stemwinder.

Monday February 8th and Tuesday February 9th, Kimberley Alpine Team organized a speed camp for U12 to U18 athletes. The camp took place on Dreadnaught where participants took part in speed elements, jumps, speed traps and pump track sections. On day one athletes went through each section individually. On day two sections where linked. By the end of the day athletes were running all the sections without interruption from top to bottom.

Kimberley Alpine Team would like to thank all the volunteers who made these events so successful and in doing so allowed athletes, coaches and families to enjoy their weekend.
